I am currently a senior researcher in Mathematics (tenured) at the Institute of Mathematics of the Romanian Academy (IMAR), in Bucharest, Romania.
I had the chance to be part of several important research groups in Dynamical Systems, in Europe and in North America. I was a researcher at Uppsala University, Sweden, 2020-2021, a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Toronto 2017-2019, and a Milnor Lecturer at the Institute for Mathematical Sciences at Stony Brook University from 2013 to 2017.
I obtained my Ph.D. in Mathematics from Cornell University in 2013, under the supervision of John H. Hubbard. I also have a M.S. in Computer Science from Cornell University and a M.S. in Mathematics from Scoala Normala Superioara, Bucharest. I got my B.Sc. degree in Mathematics from the University of Bucharest, and my B.Eng. in Computer Science and Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Bucharest. I believe that my mixed background in math and computer science is an asset when it comes to studying Dynamical Systems.
Dynamical Systems and Ergodic Theory, Complex Analysis in one or several variables
Computer Science, especially Databases and Large Scale Architecture Systems
For a more detailed description of my research interests, please take a look at my research page.

To see a list of courses (together with the course webpages and course related materials) that I have taught at Cornell University, Stony Brook University, University of Toronto and Uppsala University, please take a look at my teaching page.
I am the Principal Investigator of a two-year research grant from the Executive Unit for Financing Higher Education, Research, Development and Innovation (UEFISCDI), Romania.

I organized a Special Session on "Holomorphic Dynamics" at the AMS Sectional Meeting at Stony Brook University.
I organized the Dynamics Seminar at Cornell University, and was a co-organizer for the Dynamics Seminar
          at the University of Toronto.
