Dr. Liviu DAIA - short biography


Dr. Liviu Daia was born on 24 July 1967 in Bucharest, Romania. In 1989 he graduated from the Faculty of Mathematics, Mathematics Department, at University of Bucharest. In 1990 he completed his Master degree (Analysis and Operator Theory), and in 1995 he obtained his PhD degree from the Grenoble University (France), under the supervision of famous Professor Bernard Malgrange.

Since 1990 Dr. Liviu Daia has held a research position at the Institute of Mathematics of the Romanian Academy (IMAR), in the Complex Analysis research group. In 1996 he was appointed a Senior Researcher. His work focuses mainly on Microlocal Analysis in the sense of M. Sato, M. Kashiwara and T. Kawaï, and is closely related to the trends generated in that domain by the research of Professors Bernard Malgrange and Yves Laurent.

During the academic year 1991-1992, French government awarded Dr. Liviu Daia a PhD scholarship at University of Grenoble (France), and between 1992-1993 Dr. Liviu Daia held a position of Assistent Professor at Joseph Fourier Institute in Grenoble.
