Stability and instability for geometric PDEs

Abstract:
In this talk we focus on two important geometric PDEs:
the heat flow for harmonic maps and Schroedinger Maps.
We discuss the stability versus instability/blow-up phenomena
for small perturbations of their solitons within the equivariant
class (a natural symmetry preserved by these PDEs).
