The Lucian Bădescu Prize

Through the generous offer of the family of Lucian Bădescu, the Simion Stoilow Institute of Mathematics of the Romanian Academy (IMAR) will institute the Lucian Bădescu prize, whose amount is 10 000 euro. The prize will be awarded to a young mathematician (under 40 years of age), whose scientific activity is connected to the Simion Stoilow Institute of Mathematics.

The decision concerning the award will be taken by a scientific committee nominated by the management of IMAR.

The candidates will send through email, at the address research@imar.ro, the following documents:

  • a short CV;
  • the list of publications;
  • a research project for one year (2-3 pages).

The prize will be awarded at IMAR, usually during the month of October; the nominee is expected to give an invited talk at IMAR, presenting his/her scientific achievements. This year the deadline for submitting applications is September 30, 2023.
